I cannot thank Swillum’s Legacy K-9's enough for our girl Josie. Having Working German Shepherds for my entire life, it was important to me and my family to find a responsible breeder who loves the breed just like we do. After meeting Jill, we could see that she absolutely loves her dogs, the breed, and that this is a passion of hers. All of her dogs come from an excellent pedigree and are family raised. We have watched our beautiful dog grow up and we are amazed by how smart she is and her silly personality! It’s been two years since we got Josie and Jill still keeps in touch with us! We are forever thankful.
After searching for months for the perfect German Shepherd for our family, we found Swillum's Legacy K-9's on FaceBook. I contacted them and they were quick to answer all of my questions. I live down in FL, and with them being in Missouri, I was unable to meet in person. I picked Brax up at the airport at 8 weeks old and he came out of the crate like he'd been there before. He was the most confident puppy I have ever seen. He has exceeded my expectations at anything and everything I have ever put in front of him and is an absolute joy to work. In his short time with me, he has been a demo dog at a school to teach kids about working dogs, learned detection/scent work, excels at being a protection dog (with a police training focus), and is a monster at frisbee. Haha! But most of all, he is so stable. He is a complete gentleman in public. I never have to worry because he has such a clear head. His temperament is everything I ever wanted in a dog. Can fire up to work when needed with amazing focus, but can also come home at the end of the day and relax. His heart is in whatever you want to do and you are the center of his world. Loyal is one word that emulates his personality. I definitely believe that he embodies everything the German Shepherd is.
My husband and I were searching for a German Sheppard puppy and came across “Swillum Legacy K-9's” on Facebook. Scrolled thru her entire Facebook and saw how beautiful and healthy her puppies looked. I then noticed an adorable puppy that was available. I realized how far she was from Northwest Indiana and wondered if it was possible, so I messaged Jill. Jill was the most sweetest and patient person ever! Explained a lot about the breed and the personality of the one we had our eyes on. You can definitely see the love she has for her puppies which made us fall in love with “Marvel” even more. That following week we picked up our Furr-baby from the airport and took her to the vet to make sure she was healthy. Our vet was very impressed on how well takin care of she was and the fact she had all of her first set of shots and her AKC papers. We had her for over a year and couldn’t be more happier. We took her to puppy classes and the K9 officer that taught the class was also very impressed and referred another officer to Jill for his service dog.
Marvel is a gorgeous dog. Her colors are mesmerizing!!! she’s a very smart, loving and a little stubborn too. She knows how to get ice cubes from the fridge dispenser to letting herself outside when she needs to go to the bathroom, along with other tricks. She sleeps with my 12 year old son every night and protects him when out in public. Their favorite game is hide and seek. He once hide in her crate with a blanket over him. She sniffed him out and opened her crate to get to him. we are so in love with her that we are now in the process of adopting one of her sisters from another litter. It will be nice knowing it will be easy to train another Swillum puppy.
My name is Heather. My husband David and I got Macy from Swillum’s Legacy K9s September of 2019 and we couldn’t be happier. Our Macy is naturally calm tempered and very smart. She is very affectionate with our two young children and is so beautiful. We get compliments everywhere we go. Jill is an amazing woman and her commitment and passion for animals is admirable. She is open, honest and knowledgeable. Her dogs have very strong, clean bloodlines as well as good genetics. We really like that she also had both parents on premises and we were able to interact with them. Overall a very positive experience and we plan to get another dog with Jill in the future.
I got Kona from Swillum's in the spring of 2018. Jill was so helpful during the entire process, especially with this being not only my first puppy but my first working-line puppy. I had the best experience being able to go an check out the puppies, the parents, and the breeder. Now i have a two year old girl with the best temperament, ball drive for days, and athletic build who can also be super snugly. When people ask about German Shepherd breeders I am quick to recommend Swillum's because of how positive my experience has been.
